Listening en Inglés: The Preposition Challenge

Contenido

Hi, everyone. Today, we have a new listening video, but it’s also a part of a challenge: the Preposition Challenge. Are you ready for it? Here goes.

TRANSCRIPTION (Transcripción)

Hi, guys!
This is Alejandra from Dilo en Inglés, and today we have a new listening video for you guys.
But, this isn’t a regular listening video like the ones that we’ve done previously because at the end of the video, I have a challenge for you guys based on what I’m about to do.
What I’m going to do now is that I’m going to recite a list of prepositions, which is the same list that we had to memorize when we were in elementary school. I think that it was in the 5th or 6th grade.  It was many, many years ago, but we still remember this list.
So, uh, before I recite the list, I want you to know three things about it.
First, it’s in alphabetical order.
Second, not all of the prepositions that you may know are contained inside of this list.
And, thirdly, which is kind of some bad news: I’m gonna have to say this list pretty fast because it I say it too slowly, I won’t be able to say it properly.
So, I apologize for having to say it so quickly but here goes:

about, above, across, after, against, along, among, around, at, before, behind, below, beneath, beside, besides, between, beyond, but, by, concerning, down, during, except, for, from, into, like, near, off, on, over, past, since, through, throughout, to, towards, under, according to, because of, and instead of.

Now, the last three “according to, because of, and instead of” may not be considered prepositions anymore, and that’s ok. It doesn’t matter. It’s just a list because: Here is your challenge. We want you guys to go to our blog. There’s a list up here…There’s a link up here. We want you to download this list, memorize it, and once you’ve got it memorized, record yourselves reciting this list. And, when you share it to social media, don’t forget to tag us @diloeningles at Facebook and Twitter.
And, we would love to see you guys taking on this challenge. It’s really just for you guys to have fun. Don’t think too much about it, and if you’re still a little wary about doing this challenge, that’s cool. That’s great. No problem. Go over there and download that list because you can use it whenever you’re studying your prepositions, so that you guys can have the most amount of benefit from this list possible.
So, that’s it for today’s video, and we will see you very soon with a new video.
Bye, guys!
